Important Information for US Customers
Updated 13th August
Dear US Customers
As a follow on from the below issued on Monday I have reluctantly decided to temporarily turn off shipping to the US until I have some clarification on how you will be charged the new tariffs and how much and to avoid the inevitable delays to you whilst the new system is implemented for postal shipments.
I really do hope that I can turn this back on and deliver more great vintage to you soon.
Thank you for your custom and see you again soon.
Becca
As things currently stand, all goods imported into the US regardless of value arriving on and after 29th August 2025 will be subject to duties and customs administration costs.
These costs will need to be paid by the buyer( you ) before US Customs release the shipment for delivery.
*As I understand it for postal shipments this may be charged on an ad valorem ( as a percentage) basis based on the country of origin and that country’s tariff agreements with the US or for the first 6 months a flat rate, where a minimum of $80 per parcel may be charged.
Bristol Betty Vintage is UK based but as it is a vintage shop not all of my products are of UK origin so duty rates may vary.
I currently send all my US Shipments via Royal Mail/USPS and at the time of writing I do not know if USPS will adopt the ad valorem or flat rate option for charging duty.
Expect postal delays and longer customs processing times whilst these new rules are being implemented.
I know that this will be a worry, so please do consider these extra costs and possible delays before placing an order.
News is ever changing and as I learn more I will update you.
Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss shipping options and possible charges with me prior to ordering and I will do my best to help.
Thank you for your support
